7 Best Laptops for Zoom Meetings & Video Conferences 2023 (Mac & PC)

What we like:

• Useful Touch Bar Shortcuts. The thing I love about the Macbook Pro M2 vs. the 14” device is the included touchbar. With Zoom open I have super quick access to things like mute, video on/off, leave, and raise hand. It’s a small thing but it’s incredibly handy!
  
• Heaps of processing power. As someone who jumps between multiple apps (Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams etc) – I need to have a laptop that has the power to run multiple software. The M2 Macbook Pro is insanely powerful and doesn’t break a sweat with video conferences. 
  
• Hidden Camera Design. Because of the thicker bezels on the Macbook Pro 13”, the camera array is hidden behind a black border that runs around the device. If you like a nice clean aesthetic on your laptop, you’ll love the m2 MBP. 

What we didn’t like: 

• 1080p is missing. The updated M2 has Apple’s latest chip, which means its got plenty of processing power for a 1080p camera. Hopefully, with the next update, we’ll see a 1080p camera.

It’s lightweight, insanely powerful and perfect for someone looking for an affordable upgrade. It’s also a great option for staff members and new recruits. 

What we like:

• 360-degree flip option. Seamlessly move between laptop and tablet mode with the option to rotate your screen and keyboard. 
  
• 1080p camera with Windows Hello: Enjoy crystal clear Zoom and Skype calls with the built-in 1080p camera. Enjoy a password-less face scan Windows Hello login. 
  
• Precision Pen 2 included: If you’re in the design industry or spend a big part of your day signing/reviewing documents, the included stylus pen makes drawing on the touchscreen an enjoyable process. 

What we didn’t like:

• Limited ports. Like most modern laptops, the Yoga 9i has removed many legacy ports in order to make the device thin and light. If you rely on an older port like HDMI you’ll need to carry a dongle. 

The Yogi 9i is an exciting flexible Windows laptop that has top-of-the-line specs, including a power XE integrated graphics card, making it ideal for video meetings and professional video recording. The ability to rotate and use the device in multiple modes makes it ideal for the power user. 

What we liked:

• Two cameras are included. The current range of Surface Pros has not one, but TWO awesome cameras. (one forward facing, one rear facing) which means you have the option to turn your device around and use a more powerful camera for your videos or Looms. 
  
• Windows Hello. One of the best things included with any Surface Book is the ability to use the web camera to instantly log into your PC without the need for a password. 
  
• Tablet & Laptop mode. Feel like taking your meeting on the couch instead? Unclip your Surface Pro keyboard and use tablet mode instead! An ideal solution if you showcase products or things from around the office in Zoom meetings. 

What we didn’t like:

• 5mp Resolution The only real downside to the Surface Pro devices is the lower resolution of the front-facing camera. It’s totally fine for video conferencing, but not ideal for camera snaps. 

The Surface line really stands apart in a crowded windows market. It’s both a powerful laptop, tablet, and multi-camera device. If utility is your primary criterion, look no further than the Surface Book / Surface Pro. 

Things we like:

• Exceptional Battery Life. Being in Zoom meetings can be a resource-hungry process. Luckily the M2 Macbook is extremely efficient at running multiple video apps without hogging all your battery. If the battery is your number #1 priority, I highly recommend the MBA M2. 
  
• Amazing 3-mic Array. Like the idea of studio-quality microphones built into your new computer? The updated MBA m2 has some of the best-sounding microphones available. They do an exceptional job of providing detailed rich audio during video calls. 
  
• Best Speakers Ever. It’s hard to believe how powerful the built-in speakers are on the updated M2 devices. They provide room-filling audio that’s ideal for video conferencing, Spotify, and your favorite podcasts. 

What we didn’t like:

• Only 2 USB-C Ports. Unfortunately, like the previous M1 Macbooks, the new M2 Macbook Air is still limited to only two USB-C ports. This means some power users will still have to use a dongle for an SD Card reader or HDM port. 

The recent upgrades to the Macbook Air M2 make it an excellent choice for lots of professionals. It includes a new chip that easily runs Zoom, Microsoft Teams and any other video recording software you might use.

What we like:

• Ultra-fast charging. The new ASUS Zenbook 14X has 45w PD built-in meaning you can fast charge your laptop, just like your smartphone! Simply plug in via the included charger.
  
• Lots of ports. If your current desk setup uses HDMI to connect to a monitor, or you still plug in a USB-type-A microphone, the Zenbook will be an excellent choice as still retains older legacy ports.
  
• Beautiful OLED 120hz display. OLED is the best technology available on any laptop, and the ASUS Zenbook 14X includes one of the brightest, sharpest, and most fluid displays available. Perfect for consuming content or making videos.

What we didn’t like:

• Colors choices. The ASUS Zenbook 14X has limited color options which not appeal to everyone. Using a new ceramic coating process, the laptop is now available in gray and off-white. 

What we liked:

• Aggressively priced. The Sunpow can often be found at an excellent price, making it a great option for anyone looking to get started with metal detecting. 
  
• Best Keyboard available. Long gone are the days of Apple’s treaded butterfly keyboard issues, The M1 Macbook Pro has the best typing experience of any modern-day laptop, making it ideal for all types of video conferencing software.
  
• On-going software support. The M1 chip will be supported for several more years, meaning you’ll get an excellent lifespan from the device. MacOS Sanoma is just around the corner which runs perfectly on my M1 MBP.

What we didn’t like:

• No RAM upgrades. Due to the configuration of the M1 chip, the RAM is now part of the processor, meaning you can no longer remove the back of the device and install your own RAM.
